Affiliate Marketing – What if You Find a Better Product After You've Already Set Up the Site?
Most internet marketers fail to realize just how versatile the affiliate marketing business model is. For example, you've spent weeks or months setting up a site to sell an eBook titled, "How to Get Your Ex Back" and all of a sudden you discover that there are now 15 gajillion other websites – all promoting the exact same product . Now what? There's no way you can compete against those odds.
Might as well tear it down and start all over again. Or, you COULD:
Find another similar product to promote –
You've already got all the content in place. All you need to do is find the next, hot, similar product, change out your links and banners, and you're back in business. Is your niche "How to Train Your Poodle" and now everyone is getting Chihuahuas? Simple, just do a search and replace. "Sit!" means "Sit!" no matter what breed of dog you're talking too.
Create your own product –
Ahhhhh, now that's more like it. If you're promoting a ClickBank (or any other affiliate network) ebook, then that means you're only getting a percentage of the sale every time someone buys one. If your sales are going well you can make your profits even better by creating your own product and slipping it into that spot.
How to do that?
Simple. READ THE EBOOK! You need to know what you're selling anyway, right? So read it – and then re-write it in your own words. Add in some personal experiences or anecdotes. Give it a new twist. Add in some information to make it even better or leave out some of the extra stuff that makes it unbearably long.
Look, the content on your site is obviously already great or you would not be getting those affiliate sales. So you do not need to change any of that. All you really need to do after you've re-written the eBook is get rid of your affiliate links and make them all point to your own sales page – where ALL of the sales dollars will go directly into YOUR PayPal account.
If you're not comfortable with re-writing the eBook yourself, you can outsource it to a freelance writer who, for a much smaller fee than if it was an original ebook, would be very happy to do it for you. You'll recoup the investment in no time now that you will not be splitting the profits with an advertiser.
