Maybe you thought that if you got in to affiliate marketing all you've got to do is choose a product, set up a site and then sit back and watch the money roll in. Sorry. That's not how it works. No matter what type of internet marketing you're getting in, you're going to have to do some type of promotion. And using article marketing to promote your affiliate marketing website is just about the easiest way to drive traffic to your site there is.
What is article marketing?
Article marketing is simple. Every day, millions of people come to the internet looking for information. Most of them are not necessarily ready to buy yet, but they do want information that will help them solve a particular problem and maybe make a decision about buying a certain product.
That's where your articles come in. To promote your affiliate marketing site with article marketing all you have to do is write fresh, informative articles, at around 350 to 400 words, and submit them to the free article directories. These article directories generally let an author include a resource box with each article and it's in that resource box that you're going to include one or two links back to your site. So, let's say that Mrs. Jones is looking for information on those new k-cup coffeemakers. She goes to her Google search bar and types in 'k-cup coffeemaker' and lo and behold – there is one of your articles about the benefits of a k-cup coffeemaker over a standard drip coffeemaker.
She reads your very brief, informative article and decides it sounds interesting – so she follows the link in your resource box back to your website for even more information. It benefits you to submit as many articles as possible to the top article directories using as many of your different keywords as possible. Each article should focus on one keyword so you can maximize your presence on the index. For example, Mrs. Jones searched for information using the keyword 'k-cup coffeemaker', but Mrs. Smith may search for information on the same product, using the keyword 'one cup coffeemaker'.
If you're written a different article for each keyword, then Mrs. Smith and Mr.s Jones will both find your article and soon be on their way to your website, where, as luck would have it, you just happen to have even more helpful information and even a link they can click on to buy one!
